I appreciate the pride taken and hard work put into this campground. There can be lots of customers in the office buying snacks, coffee, bike rides, canoe trips, checking in, but the ladies in the office are extremely friendly and efficient. Our site needed some leveling. We were here when it rained and it was a mess! Dirt and tree parts were everywhere as there's not much grass here. (The ground here is mainly dirt and pine needles as there are tall pines everywhere.) Our site number 7 had good WiFi reception and one TV channel came in through our antenna. The bathrooms were clean (other than after the rain). There are lots of family-oriented activities with a little extra on the weekends.

We are basing our stay on site number 68. Other sites looked great, but our site had much to be desired. (Only about a 12 -18 campsites actually have a lake front view) Site was a flat, unlevel mound with very little room on each side before falling down the steep small hill. Water was on opposite side, basically taking all 50 feet of hose. There was no sewer cap. Our fire pit was under water 2 of 3 nights. The road was narrow and hard to maneuver. Restrooms were dirty. There are way too few showers (4) and toilets available for the 113 sites. Unfriendly campground attendant working in the office. When I told him of the fire pit being underwater for the second day he said nothing: no response. We had to sit in the office to use the purchased Wi-Fi and listened to a lot of his unhelpfulness to other customers. Says he's not from this area when asked about local restaraunts and attractions. Public access to the beach required walking through a campsite. Our experience involved noisy neighbors staying up late around the campfire. On the plus side: trash cans are located conveniently throughout the campground and the campground is located near Gooseberry Falls, bike trails, the lighthouse, and Betty's Pies.

We enjoyed our midweek stay at this campground. Spacious sites with lots of shade. Each site seems to be separated with brush and trees. Our site Number 24e was slightly unlevel. Bugs weren't too bad: this time of year the little flies were pesty. The trash receptacle is located quite a distance away. The showers and restrooms were clean. They don't have a dump station. Expect to pay an extra $5 per day for a State vehicle permit. There are beautiful trails located in this park, including the quarry trail with a hike less than a mile to a small waterfall.

This is a really nice KOA located very close to the Badlands National Park. We enjoyed lots of shade and plenty of space for our camper and vehicle, friendly staff, swimming and mini golf. The sites are level and easy to get in and out of. The showers and restrooms were clean. This is actually our 2nd time here in 6 years. The family enjoyed the pancake breakfast available for purchase.

Our site was not level. Two dirt spots were present at our site for a potential fire ring, but no fire rings are provided. The view from our camp spot was the shed and what must be the camp manager's trailer home and all the junk around them. We woke up in the morning to a class A and its trailer parked in the road portion behind us. Maybe this is overflow camping? Bathrooms were steamy but somewhat clean. The place seemed busy and understaffed.

Nice campground with lots of trees. Extremely clean bathrooms and showers, cutely decorated even! Very nice staff. We needed a few boards to level on our site, but we were at the end of a row. Right off the highway and in town and a short walk to McDonalds. Couldn't resist the gift shop.

Our site by the playground was level. The staff was pleasant. The showers were individual rooms around the outside of the building, the bathrooms were clean. The view is beautiful and the campground is spread out and it has a fun store, ice cream and candy shops and a restaurant. Wi-FI worked great. We didn't have a fire pit, but a community fire was started at 7. We enjoyed the evening movie. This is a well run campground super close to Devils Tower.

We just stayed for an overnight as it was convenient off of I-90. The site wasn't level. The restrooms were clean. It was quiet in the evening when we stayed here even though the campground was full. The kids enjoyed the playground and swimming pool.

We tried not to be offended with the lack of friendliness in the office/camp store. We got a premium site, with extra space and a campfire. Otherwise this campground is very tight. Our site was level. The bathrooms are old, but clean enough. The showers have that misty pins and needles spray and the shower I chose didn't drain properly. This campground is very close to Yellowstone National Park and so the bad points offset the convenience of being at the park in minutes.

Nice Urban campground located in some trees. We were parked next to a noisy creek and noiser road in a "premium" spot. We had plenty of space in our premium spot, located amongst the huge and beautiful Class A campers. At first they parked us in a "deluxe" spot and we had to let the office know our reservations were for a "premium" spot. Fire pits are only allowed in certain few areas (not ours). It was too cool to swim, but there was a separate pool for adults and an adult hot tub available if desired. The bathrooms are clean, but had mold and yuck in them. My kids loved the rec area, playground, and the dinner/breakfast options at the outdoor dining area were tempting. We would stay here again, even with the price, because it is so close to the Colorado Springs attractions.

This park is nice and quiet. The staff was friendly. The pool was very nice and had enough chairs. The kids enjoyed the rec hall, with the few games to play. Level gravel sites. Nice big trees all around. I gave this place a 9 because the pretty full dumpster had maggots all over it. Aside from that, we would stay here again.

What a GEM of a campground! Friendly staff for starters. We also had cable TV available and it worked perfectly. The spotless bathrooms/showers are decorated with coordinating border, curtains, shower curtains on top of the liners, new paint. The round pool was nice, with a large deck area and a kiddie pool, and this campground even provided a box of pool toys! The pet walk was a cute little fenced/gated area with a fire hydrant in the middle of it. The playground has different and cool swings/slide. All these little extras made this place over the top. We couldn't get the WiFi to work. (It may have been due to user error.) The gravel road leading to campground and highway noise were the only downfall, but not enough to make us not want to stay here again.

Some big trees give little shade. The pool was very nice, refreshing, clean and was shaded later in the day. A hot tub is available in a little room. A bathroom code is necessary in order to use the bathrooms/showers and it was difficult to get the door and code to cooperate. The bathrooms/showers were clean. They have a little cafe that feeds certain special dinners at a reasonable cost. WiFi worked perfectly. The gravel pads were level and easy to pull into. The campground was quiet.

This is what Colorado Camping should be! We enjoyed our site, A5, as it had a nice uninhibited view of the mountains. Our site was shaded and level. We were instructed on how to get in the site by the helpful and friendly staff. The gravel, curvy, narrow switchback road to get to the site was a little unnerving at first. We were provided with a small fire ring. They have a cute coffee bar by the office. We found hummingbirds and woodpeckers galore by the office/coffee shop due to lots of bird feeders. Little creatures can be found everywhere. One night, staff drove around and advised us, 3 times, to keep foods and temptations locked up due to a bear sighting. WiFi worked just fine. Restrooms and showers by the office were functional and clean. Dump station is oddly located and hard to park to dump. This RV park is conveniently located, just a half mile from Rocky Mountain National Park, $20 for 7 days, riding stables right across the street; and town with Stanley Hotel is just 3 miles away.

It cost us $20 to stay here, but we got $10 certificate to spend in the casino. The outdoor pool in the back of the hotel is very nice and has a beautiful view of a small lake. The small roads around the campground need to be fixed as there are some huge buckles and/or potholes. The previous reviewer is quite accurate in the campground description. We have stayed at this casino previously, in the campground and the hotel. We notice now that employees drive golf carts around the campground and casino parking lot offering rides and assistance. This is not a destination spot as it has no fire rings or beautiful view of anything but the casino. The gas station located here has real cheap gas! We would stay here again as it is very conveniently located and cheap.

We enjoyed this beautiful Dakota County park/campground. It was full the weekend we were here (almost every weekend is full during the summer here and now I know why) Every camp site has a great view of the Lake. The beach was a short walk and it was very nice, but there was algae in the water. (We went to the Cannon Falls pool to swim instead, just a short drive.) Gophers amused my daughter as well as a huge playground. The camp store has free loaner fishing poles and tackle to use in the lake. My advice would be to request sites 1 to 17 as there is no road/pedestrian path between your camper and the lake. Pedestrian and bike traffic was pretty crazy Friday and Saturday night. Hosts of this campground were friendly, the county park deputies were seen frequently driving and walking around. At this point, summer 2007, the County has a Firewood Restriction in place; they request you purchase and burn only their wood at your camp site due to the Emerald Ash Borer beetle. They do ask upon check in if you brought wood.

Expensive! The base rate was escalated with a weekend charge, three children, electric and water chosen. We purchased the water park for the kids, also. We then saw that the water park was really fun for only for under 8. (2 of our kids are teens) The pool was very crowded, almost to the point of unsafe at times. Sites are very close and the campground is very large! We were given a spot on a corner by the pool and had LOTS of pedestrian traffic walking by on the road and through our site. Our kids enjoyed the caged animals and loved the horses. For nine bucks you can walk your child around the park on a pony. The lake is across the road and it was nice to go there and sit on the dock. We would have taken a pontoon out, but after spending 70 to stay the night and 50 for horse and pony rides, we couldn't afford more. Fire rings/pits are just basically a spot on the ground. The staff is friendly (LOTS of teens speeding around in golf carts), the camp office is understaffed. The bathrooms were clean, showers were nice, but paper towels were out in the bathroom. The dumpsters were overflowing and smelly. I would be an unhappy camper if I was parked close to a dumpster. We would consider coming back here mid week so it wouldn't be so congested.

Our site was in the Riverview loop, site 33. We were at an end and it was a large space. However, our campfire was close to the camper next to us and their camper, table and fire faced ours. I felt a little uncomfortable with that setup. Our kids wouldn't spend much time outside the camper because of the bugs. I had gathered ticks just walking to the bathroom. There were only two showers available to our loop. We all enjoyed the trails, biking and the beach. We drove around the park and discovered the fire tower. That was C O O L ! ! Loved that.

Park okay, but older. Old playground stuff, old bathrooms, old pool. They cram the RV's in. At first arrival they backed us into a bad spot, set up for Class A's with 50-amp service and electric and water unreachable for us and a fire pit behind us on a slope. After complaining they moved us to a much better spot physically. There was way too much traffic on these little dirt roads, with a black van driving by every hour, a golf cart loaded with wood going by frequently, and yet another guy driving around in a golf cart, usually with (his?) kids and sometimes way too fast. We had some noisy and obnoxious fellow camping neighbors and a gun club that made us feel like we were in a war zone from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.! This facility is located next to a motorycle repair business next door, so there was quite a bit of motorcylce testing done on the other side of the fence line. So if you like tranquil camping, this place may disappoint you. (My 7 yr old loved the pool and the staff was quite friendly.)

We were here on the busy memorial weekend. We liked this campground but for the fact it is a campground which encourages ATVs and their use. I believe there were more ATVs than campers here. One campsite had 10 ATVs crammed in their site. ATVs were driven all over and at all times of the day and night. Midnight even. The staff was as nice as could be for the work they had with a crowded park. Beautiful tall pine trees are everywhere. In fact, when we were feeling overwhelmed by the crowding of campers and people, we looked up at the peacefulness of the tall trees swaying overhead. That was the only thing that made us feel we were not camping in a parking lot. Noise - not quiet. Maybe this was due to busy and crowded weekend, but partying campers didn't quiet down at 11. Don't count on checking your email if you are not close to the office. We couldn't get Internet at site 86. We took a canoe trip (Scheduled through this KOA) to get away from the crowd. If you don't mind dodging fallen trees for the half of the trip, dragging on the rocks a few times due to low water, you might enjoy it. Good thing about this park is that there are a lot of things for the kids to do. (Bring extra cash for ice cream social, bikes, mini golf, water slide)

Beautiful campground with large sites and located 1 mile from a tubing/canoeing facility and the Cannon Valley bike path. . . . BUT sites are hard to back into due to trees, many sites are not level. First come, first serve and no direction on how to get into spots. Gravel roads, which is not unusual, but high amount of traffic from seasonals going in and out makes for lots of dust. The bathrooms were awful, filthy, with no paper towels, spiders everywhere. Quiet hours are at 11:00 p.m., but not observed. Party in the campground lasted until 2 or 3:00 a.m. Dogs not leashed. Takes only cash or checks. Trash dumpster was a distance away and FULL. The playground was quite nice. I think owner is trying to fix things up, but he has a long way to go.

Great area to see the lake, shipping traffic, lift bridge and the local attractions. At night, overlooking the Duluth harbor, it is beautiful! We are returning this year in July. The weather in Duluth in September is very cool.

Nice owners and staff. Showers were okay. Roads and paths are big chunky rocks that are very hard to walk on. We got a long and narrow back-in site across from a highway and with a view of the lake. We couldn't see the lake because of trees, however, but I believe it was there. It was the noisiest highway I've ever camped by. The fan noise of the camper hardly helped to cover the traffic noise. They have pull through sites located further from the highway that I would request next time. The pool was closed due to their annual Hawaiian party. We paid the fee and attended, but my daughter commented it was a drunk fest and I felt the party was not very family oriented. We did not have a camp fire because the bugs were so bad. We tried fishing in their fishing hole and off the small dock, but all we caught were tree branches and weeds. Bikes and paddle boats are available for rent, but we didn't have time for that.

We stayed on a quiet Sunday evening. Staff wasn't really friendly on check-in. Huge trash dumpster is located by the office so it is quite a hike to throw trash. Our site was a pull-through located a distance from the pool and right next to the only other campers in the area. The site was quite narrow and didn't allow for the picnic table unless we put it on the site next to us. Some camp sites do not allow campfires. We loved the pool as it was clear and sparkling clean. Could use some umbrellas for shade. I think the fishing hole dried up. Train noise, but it wasn't disturbing. Bathrooms/showers now have entry codes for campers so that the tubers and canoers couldn't use them any longer. They were clean.

We had a full hookup site right next to the office/pool/mini golf. This is a busy place with lots to do! The sites are nice and level and easy to get in and out of. The campground has beautiful trees towering over everyone. Well lit at night. We didn't have a problem with bugs. We participated in the tractor ride and bought the ice cream at their ice cream social and swam in the pool. The kids loved the 8 foot deep pool. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Access to canoeing and tubing is available at this campground. We canoed and were transported to our drop off area by a very friendly staff person who told us of the area and gave us some neat insite on hayward. Great area for touring. We plan to stay at this campground again!

This campground is in need of an update and cleaning! Campsites are not clearly marked and not level. Upon checkin we couldn't find our site! We had to ask someone walking around to help us find the area. We got a back in site with electric located about 25 feet on right hand side and water was more than 30 feet on the left hand side. Our site was located next to permanent, junky campsites. Showers are various doors located on a building which you have to walk around to check for an unlocked one. Although pool water was clean, pool decking was cracked, chunks of the sides were missing. Pool deck had ants and assorted plastic chairs and no umbrellas or shade. Highway noise and pool noise was constant at our campsite. For some reason there is 8 foot fencing located in various locations to which we had to walk clear around to get to the playground and bathrooms. Office was like a barn with no one over 18 working the desk. This campground will haul canoers and tubers to the river. Price to canoe was near $40 per canoe which is higher than other places we've checked, $8 for tubing. While we walked around the campsite we saw some beautiful tent sites located on the back perimeter of the campground. We wouldn't put this on our return-to list, even if we could get a different site.

Nice sites. Paved roads, a bit narrow. Not much shade could be found in our area. Bundled wood was outrageously priced! $6 for a bundle! They required it purchased from them only. They also required 2 night minimum for the weekend stay. Our site was located by the office and there was a lot of vehicle traffic all day long by the office. There was nothing to do right at the campground. The rest of the park and fishing spots and beach area are located a driving distance away. Showers and bathrooms were impressively clean.

We felt like we were crowded into this campground, with being in the middle of the road of pull throughs. Could hear highway noise. The facilities are very nicely maintained, hosts were wonderful people, and the pool, although older, was in pretty nice condition and our daughter loved it.
